Tons — Support

Tons is a measurement-led workout tracker built around one honest number: total tonnage — weight × reps, added up. Log a set in seconds, watch your daily ton fill up, climb the rank ladder from a piano to a rocket.

FAQ

Where is my data?

On your device. Tons works fully offline and has no account system. You can export a JSON backup from Settings at any time, and restore it on a new phone.

How do I move to a new phone?

Settings → Backup → Export, send the file to the new device (AirDrop works great), then Settings → Backup → Import. iCloud device backup also carries Tons data automatically.

Why does Tons ask for Apple Health access?

Only to read your bodyweight, so bodyweight exercises (push-ups, pull-ups…) count real kilograms. It's optional — you can also type your bodyweight in Settings.

Does the Apple Watch app need the phone?

You can log a set on the watch on its own: pick the exercise, turn the crown to set reps or weight, tap to save. The set travels to the iPhone as soon as the two are in range, so the phone stays the single source of truth for your totals.

Notifications fire at odd times?

By default Tons learns your usual training time and sends a single daily nudge around it. You can pick a fixed time — or turn reminders off entirely — in Settings → Reminders.
